Project Process questions traditional approaches to architecture, which are often seen as static, proposing alternatives that emphasize transformation and adaptability as foundational elements in design. Each project aims not only to fulfill its function but also to encourage reflection on how the process influences the final outcome. Project Process promotes a more fluid architecture that interacts dynamically with stakeholders, including the environment and the community.

Coalescence

Coalescence

2023

Coalescence is a concept design for a new working experience in the canals of the Netherlands. The proposal emerges as a criticism of post-covid remote-work modalities and proposes a working system that involves individuals with their community and environment.
It is a circular system that involves public stakeholders, schools and isolated individuals to integrate with each other and with their environment through the caring of water and recycling of plastic waste. Together they 3D print working cabins that clean the waters of the canals in their way, accumulating material to build new work spaces, growing the caring community.
Individuals find an alternative to the confinement of the home office, which allows them to enjoy floating in the water, changing the daily routine for a new perspective of their environments and cities. They learn to appreciate and care for their environment knowing that while working they also contribute to reducing the pollution of the city veins. At the same time, they get progressively integrated into the community, helping and supporting other individuals to join and build their own floating spaces.

The beauty of decay

A House of salt is a house that delutes, melts and erodes, constantly changing, but it also shines pristine white and after every rainy day and it gets every time more translucent, sparkling and attractive. In a House of Salt, the decaying process is more like a metamorphosis, from a rough stone into a jewel. Until its sudden and silent disappearance.

PopUp PopDown

Three hundred and sixty inflatable beach balls cover the arch’s surface, creating a colorful repetitive motif that draws in customers, particularly children. Forty-two pink pool noodles cover the counter backwall and a giant inflatable flamingo stands in the center of the store, enhancing the fun, summer vibe of the ice-cream venue. Additionally, the counter furniture and ice-cream fridges were recycled from a previous shop, while chairs and tables were borrowed from another store for the duration of the three-month pop-up, ensuring continued use afterward. To uphold the zero-waste principle, the design had to preserve the elements’ independence; by assembling them in such a way that they wouldn’t be damaged during disassembly. No glue or nails were used, to enable their re-use after the shop's closure.

What truly sets this project apart is its emphasis on the disassembly phase. Each element is crafted for easy dismantling, ensuring that materials can be reused and gifted to the community after the pop-up ends. A design that not only brings joy but also fosters a sense of community, low costs and environmental responsibility!

Listen

Move in Moerwijk is a soundscape installation that challenges the way we perceive and understand stigmatized communities. Set in Moerwijk, a neighborhood in The Hague often overshadowed by negative labels, this project invites the audience to slow down, listen, and experience the tapestry of voices that make up this diverse area.

Through a 10-minute sound journey, the installation captures the stories and thoughts of Moerwijk’s residents, blending them into a final musical piece promoted as the only single of Move in Moerwijk "record label."
